The Art of Banksy is the world’s largest collection of Banksy art. All 150 works on display are original and authenticated. The pieces span from prints to canvases and unique collectibles.

Exhibition curator Michel Boersma said “Over the last eight years we have been expanding the collection which we are able to display. From 70 in Auckland in 2018 to over 150 authenticated and genuine works. No replicas — the real deal.”

Dubbed a “guerrilla street artist”, Banksy is one of the world’s most famous artists. Despite rising to fame in the 90s, his identity remains a mystery. His works are often anti-establishment, and provide commentary, reflection, and poke fun at the culture or politics of the time.

The Art of Banksy has brought Banksy’s era-defining works to over 1.5 million visitors in 18 cities around the world. It has been shown in Auckland, Boston, Chicago, Gothenburg, Miami, San Francisco, Sydney, Tel Aviv, Washington DC, and London. This is the first time it has come to Wellington.

The Art of Banksy is not curated or authorised by the artist. The exhibition only displays authenticated art sold or gifted by the artist. There are no replicas or art removed from the street.
