Tami Neilson Sings Nelson

Fans of country and western are in for a treat this spring. Country singer Tami Neilson performs a collection of songs from the songbook of one of the greats — Willie Nelson. She will also perform some of her own classics and share stories of collaborating with the man himself. On first meeting him she says “We hugged hello, then wandered over to his living room and sat - me on the couch with my guitar, him on a chair across from me holding [his guitar] Trigger. We rehearsed our duet ‘Beyond the Stars’. It was one of the most magical moments of my life.” 

Originally from Canada, Tami moved to New Zealand in 2007. She has since won multiple awards, including a 2014 APRA Silver Scroll and Best Country Album at the New Zealand Music Awards in 2009, 2010, 2012, and 2015. The concert coincides with the release of her new album. She’ll be joined on stage by her band, along with special guest, Jay Neilson.
