About the trail

Taniwha is a fast, wet and unpredictable trail that weaves along an old walking track. It's a narrow route that gets extra wet in winter and after rain. There's also a natural creek crossing the trail so you might wonder if you're on a bike trail or waterway.

This trail is mainly for mountain biking, but walking is also allowed. Walkers give way to mountain bikers.

Getting there
