-306m descent
299m highest point
This one-direction loop starts and finishes at the main car park in Mākara Peak Mountain Bike Park, on South Karori Road. The route climbs 308m overall hence its intermediate rating. The third trail you’ll come across, Three Brothers, takes you through some stunning native bush and help you hone your skills on a single-loop track.
After Three Brothers, you start your descent back to the car park on the fast and flowing Smokin Track. Smokin leads to Big Toms Wheelie, and from there you can choose one of three tracks to get back to the main entrance. Swigg is suggested, but you could take Starfish or Lazy Fern instead.
All tracks are intermediate grade and mostly under tree cover, so there’s protection from the weather.
