Mākara Peak Fern Loop is a popular 4km route in the Mākara Peak Mountain Bike Park. This track is only used for mountain bikers and is considered easy.
The one-way loop starts on the Koru track, its gentle uphill gradient making it suitable for novice riders of all ages. There are plenty of spots to pull over to rest if needed. Koru Track joins up with Lazy Fern Track, a well-maintained, smooth trail that winds back to the main car park. Since the track is slower-paced, you have time to enjoy the mature trees and bush in this part of the park.
