The five members of the Eastern Echoes Ensemble pose with their instruments with a view of Wellington harbour behind them.

Chinese classical music takes centre stage at The Opera House. The Eastern Echoes Ensemble showcases Wellington’s diverse musical talent and artistry. They bring a fresh and innovative touch to melodies that have lasted the test of time. There will be intimate solos, expansive ensembles, and soulful vocal performances.

Traditional Chinese instruments will transport audiences to another time and place. Zoe Li, who performed at the Beijing Olympics closing ceremony, plays the erhu. Cassie Zhang commands the piano. Ruoyan Zuo plucks the guzheng. Jeff Lin charms the Chinese flute, and Grace Chen stuns with her vocals. The ensemble brings an Eastern influence to Wellington’s world-class classical music scene.
