An Evening with Cowboy Junkies

Canadian band Cowboy Junkies returns to Wellington with its special mix of alternative country and folk-rock. Formed in 1985 when a lot of music was flashy and loud, the Canadian band has stayed their gentle course with whisper-close vocals and subtle instrumentation. Cowboy Junkies prove that there continues to be an audience waiting for something quiet, beautiful, and reflective. 

Cowboy Junkies will perform a range of songs from their four decades and 29 albums. Expect to hear hits from their 1988 multiplatinum album ‘The Trinity’ and the acclaimed 2023 album ‘Such Ferocious Beauty’. The band of four comprises siblings — Margo, Michael, and Pete Timmins, and bassist Alan Anton. This long-lasting group has never had a breakup or hiatus. It’s a testament to the appreciation they have for each other and their dedication to creating beautiful music.
