About the trail

Weave your way through a mix of exotic native bush and open landscapes on a trail dedicated to the Department of Conservation (DOC). The Doctor was developed by Mana Cycle Group with funding from The Outdoor Recreation Consortium.

The Cycle Group felled wilding pines and replaced a previously damaged walking track with a new multi-use trail for biking and walking.

Getting there

  • The trail starts from Spicer Botanical Park. Cross the ford and the start of the trail is on the right.
  • There are regular bus and train services to Porirua and the surrounding area. Timetables are available from Metlink.

Know before you go

  • Bikers must always give way to walkers on this trail.
