Cheviot Road Track is a steep walking trail through mature native bush with plenty of shade on a sunny day. Even though the trail is mostly covered in trees, there are occasional breaks to catch glimpses of the view.
At about 300m from the top, the trail has spectacular views over Lowry Bay. At the top you can walk a little further to the intersection with the Main Ridge Track.
Watch out for loose gravel on the way back down.
This trail is part of the Lowry Bay Loop walk. To complete the loop, join this trail with the Howard Road Track and Ngaumatau Road.
