Damien Rice and a guitarist sit by a white and blue wall looking at one another.

Known for his hauntingly beautiful live shows, Damien Rice has the ability to transform the biggest rooms into the most intimate spaces. He’ll be working his magic on Wellington audiences when he heads to The Opera House in February. Often performing with no setlist, he has built an incredible connection with fans that continues to evolve with each live performance. The Dublin-born singer has released three studio albums since 2002. His music has been variously described as folk, indie rock and Brit-pop.

Damien’s debut album ‘O’ propelled him into the spotlight in 2002. It landed him a top 10 spot on the UK album chart, plus three top 30 UK singles and a Shortlist Music Prize. His innate ability to connect through his music continues to excite fans and impress critics. A reviewer from Lilithia Reviews remarked “Rice took his audience on a mysterious and haunting journey through his raw stories of love, heartache, pain, and sorrow”.
