On the edge of , Harcourt Park in Upper Hutt is a 40-minute drive north of Wellington city.
It is a multi-purpose, picturesque park with (pram-friendly) walking tracks through bush areas and open spaces for picnics. There are two electric barbeques available to use, along with picnic tables, shelters, and public toilets.
The park caters for children of all ages with playgrounds, sports fields, a disc golf course, and community sports clubrooms. A mini, sealed cycle track, complete with road signs and intersections, is a safe space for children to learn about the road rules.
A large, covered stage, with an open grass area in front and facilities backstage, provides a space for concerts and live shows.
A paddling pool and splash pad are open during the summer months.
Harcourt Holiday Park, the Hutt River Trail, and the Remutaka Cycle Trail are all nearby.
