At the south end of Evans Bay in Wellington Harbour, the marina provides spectacular views of the bay. It’s also a popular spot for watching planes coming in and leaving the nearby Wellington Airport.
The location has plenty of car parking and is close to the capital’s central, southern, and eastern suburbs.
Featuring four non-floating piers with walk-on access to 141 berths, it can take boats up to 20 metres in length. A restricted number of people live aboard their boats in the marina. There is one visitor berth available, for stays of up to one month for boats up to 12m in length.
Facilities include access to power, fresh water, sewage pump-out, oil disposal, toilets and showers, and storage.
Evans Bay Yacht Club provides tailor-boat parking and undercover centre-board storage. It also has a travel lift and hardstand.
Colourful boatsheds, likely built between the late-1920s and early-1930s, edge the water.
