A half-hour drive from Wellington — or six minutes by helicopter — Boomrock is a well-known and versatile function, retreat, and event venue.
It sits on 600 hectares of a working sheep and beef farm called Papanui Station. There are dramatic, untouched coastlines. The terrain varies from pastures to native bush and 25-metre-high coastal cliffs. The farm prides itself on a focus on conservation and sustainability.
With its expansive views, the property offers three venues — The Lodge, The Bunkers, and a clifftop race track.
The Lodge has plenty of character with its roaring open fire, jarrah flooring, wharf beams and an expansive deck to soak up the scenery.
Among the native bush are The Bunkers, with sea views and an inspiring coastal location.
Then there’s The Track, which boasts stunning 360-degree panoramic views. The purpose-built 900-metre-long race track features an all-terrain park and car testing circuit.
There is also luxury accommodation on-site with access via a private road. Pipinui Point overlooks the ocean and features two bedrooms, a wood burner, and an outdoor hot tub.
Other activities Boomrock offers include clay bird shooting, archery, axe throwing, and extreme golf holes.
