“I joined the Wellington Advocate Network because, having hosted conferences and invited international delegates to Wellington in the past, I know what a great city this is to host professional contacts in. We have international standard meeting facilities, especially with the opening of Tākina. Access to a multitude of relevant institutions and people, including government officials and politicians, with whom international delegates often wish to meet. And an extraordinary range of easily accessible indoor and outdoor leisure opportunities to build into conference programmes. For an organisation like the Royal Society Te Apārangi this combination of factors means Wellington is a highly attractive location. It also happens to be my home, so I am very happy to have the opportunity to be an advocate for the city!”
