Photojournalism is a vital part of enhancing news stories. The World Press Photo Foundation holds an annual contest. It celebrates the profound impact of photography on storytelling. The World Press Photo Exhibition is a travelling exhibition of the winning photographs. Wellington's Asteron Centre is one of the stop offs this year. The images on display represent the pinnacle of photojournalism. They were selected from 60,000 entries submitted by photographers from 130 countries.
This year's three-week exhibition features winning photographs from four categories. The ‘Singles’ category showcases individual photographs that capture pivotal moments. ‘Stories’ present a series of images that delve deeper into specific narratives. ‘Long-Term Projects’ highlight photographers who commit years to documenting complex issues.
This exhibition promises to be an inspiring event. The public will love it as much as photography enthusiasts, journalists, and artists. Come to engage with the stories that have shaped the global narrative over the past year.
Tickets only available on the door.
