Archives New Zealand is the country's largest repository of original information on New Zealand's history and development.

The original Treaty of Waitangi and the 1893 Women's Suffrage Petition are among the important documents on permanent display in the Constitution Room.

Other galleries have changing exhibitions on a variety of historical and cultural topics. All government documents held can be accessed by researchers free of charge in the Reading Room. Single File Cafe in the foyer serves fantastic food and coffee.
